Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Consultant / Senior Sustainability Consultant to join the LII Places Sustainability Team. You will embed sustainability across projects, supporting governance and performance improvements for clients across buildings and infrastructure.

The role offers variety across schemes including BREEAM, LEED, and WELL, with opportunities to lead on client engagements, develop new services, and grow your own sustainability specialism.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience in sustainability or related consultancy.
• Qualified in accreditation scheme (e.g., BREEAM).
• Experience delivering an accreditation project from start to finish and achieving certification.
• Strong technical analytical skills with ability to interpret data.
• Proficient in Excel and Power BI; able to support client presentations and bids.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day delivery of project assessments (BREEAM, LEED, WELL, etc.).
• Chair meetings with clients and design teams.
• Ensure information/evidence for assessments is collected and reviewed.
• Prepare reports for authorising bodies (BRE, USGBC).
• Advise on anticipated scores and provide updates to the project team.
• Produce and maintain monthly tracking schedules.

We are looking for a Consultant / Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our LII Places Sustainability Team. As a growing team, we are focused on embedding sustainability within our projects by providing a range of services to enhance our client’s sustainability governance and performance.

The team offers an array of services to our clients from strategic support and management systems through to sustainability statements, chapters, and working on accreditations such as BREEAM, LEED, and WELL.

Role accountabilities:

This role will provide sustainability services for a broad range for public and private sector clients. This is a diverse role with many potential opportunities to technically support clients on their sustainability journey. The role will support growth and delivery of the LII Places Sustainability Team by and with a diverse workload including:

• Undertaking sustainability assessments for different accreditation schemes (e.g. BREEAM LEED, WELL, etc.), including:
• Lead on day-to-day delivery of project Assessments.
• Chairing meetings with clients and design teams.
• Ensuring the necessary information/evidence needed for the assessments is collected and reviewed.
• Preparing reports to be submitted to authorising body e.g. (BRE, USGBC).
• Advising on anticipated scores and provide regular updates to project team members.
• Producing and keep up to date monthly tracking schedules.
• Undertaking Environmental / Sustainability / Accreditation Gap Analysis.
• Providing support on technical studies such as sustainability and resilience EIA chapters and sustainable masterplanning.
• Producing Sustainability Strategies / statements and policies.
• Providing delivery support to the Team and wider Arcadis Teams when required.
• Assisting with the development of sustainability thought leadership within Arcadis, our external profile and with clients.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential

• A good understanding in technical and commercial matters associated with the above.
• At least 3 years’ experience.
• The training and License / qualification in relevant accreditation scheme e.g. BREEAM.
• The experience in delivering an accreditation project from start to finish successfully achieving certification.
• Strong technical analytical skills.
• Confident Excel and Power BI user.
• Experience in thought leadership.
• Well-rounded knowledge on wider sustainability and carbon / climate change issues.
• Proven ability to assist or lead on client presentations and preparation of bids / proposals.
• Good attention to detail, technical report writing ability and be able to assimilate information quickly.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proficient in using AI but still ensuring critical thinking.
