Job summary

Liberty Group in Salford is recruiting an Arborist apprentice on a 24-month fixed-term contract, working 40 hours per week with pay based on the national apprentice minimum wage.

You will attend training, perform seasonal arboriculture tasks, observe safety procedures, and communicate with clients to arrange and complete work, building skills for a professional career.

Job description

Are you looking to kick start a career as an Arborist? Are you based near Little Hulton in Salford? We are looking for an Arborist apprentice to work on a 24 month fixed term basis, working 40 hours per week. The salary is based upon the National Minimum Age for apprentices.

Your Role:

  • Attend training and work toward your craft qualification
  • Undertake all arboriculture maintenance work as per schedules and seasonal demands
  • Observe good arboriculture practices
  • Communicate with clients to arrange and carry out work
  • Leave homes clean and safe, collecting tenant signatures after jobs
  • Support colleagues and build relationships across the business
  • Safely operate tools, machinery, and vehicles
  • Keep accurate records of work and materials used
  • Follow safety procedures, including reporting hazards
  • Complete paperwork accurately and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Work flexibly, including out-of-hours if needed, and follow all health and safety guidelines

What We Need from You.

  • Have a genuine interest in working as an arborist
  • 16- 18-year-old Level 4 in English & Maths (C Grade or above or functional skills level 2)
  • 19+ Level 2 in English & Maths (C Grade or above or functional skills level 2)
  • Have a positive approach to completing relevant courses and qualifications
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude towards varied work and schedules
  • Excellent customer service skills and punctuality
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent organisational and planning skills
