ARABLE OPERATOR & WORKSHOP MECHANIC REQUIRED - FULL TIME POSITIONS

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Arable operator & an agricultural workshop mechanic to join our contracting team full-time. We are a family farming and forestry contracting business on the border of West Sussex/Hampshire along the South coast.

The business contract farms circa 3000 acres of combinable crops within a 40-mile radius but also undertakes many other contracting operations to include baling, 360 digger work, wood chipping & wood fuel supply keeping the year varied and interesting.

Arable Operator role to include:

1. Cultivating, drilling, ploughing, spraying experience would be an advantage & square baling
2. Maintenance and daily servicing of machinery
3. Other general operations associated within the business
4. Modern up to date Fendt & New Holland tractors

Workshop Mechanic role to include:

1. Responsible for repairing and maintaining agricultural machinery
2. Breakdown repairs
3. Experience in working with agricultural machinery
4. Workshop management
5. Use of a company van to respond to breakdowns & repairs

We are looking for:

1. Highly motivated & skilled individuals with a can-do attitude
2. Proven experience in their field
3. PA1 & PA2, PA4G & PA4S certificates an advantage for arable operator
4. Experience with GPS and precision farming techniques
5. Ability to record field applications
6. A keen eye for detail and a general interest in crop husbandry
7. Capable of working in a team environment or independently to a high standard
8. Ability to handle the seasonal hours required to undertake the tasks at hand
9. Telehandler ticket would be useful but not essential
