We are urgently recruiting freelance Arabic interpreters based in Sunderland to work within various settings such as the NHS, Local Authorities, Police, Probation, and other public and private organizations.

• Telephone Interpreters

Please note this is a self-employed position.

Job Responsibilities:

• Interpret for legal, health, and local government services
• Ensure understanding by checking comprehension after each sentence
• Perform conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting
• Handle highly confidential information
• Act as liaison between service users and providers

Requirements:

• Fluent in English and Arabic
• Legal right to work in the UK
• Minimum age of 21
• Qualifications such as:
• Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
• Community Interpreting certification
• Registration with NRPSI, CIOL, ITI (advantageous)
• Degree in Translation, Interpreting, or Languages
• Other interpreting-related qualifications
