We are urgently recruiting freelance Arabic interpreters based in Leeds to work within various settings such as the NHS, Local Authorities, Police, Probation, and other public and private organizations.

• Telephone Interpreters
• Translators

Please note this is a self-employed position.

The Job

Interpreting involves listening to, understanding, and accurately reproducing content in the target language.

You will:

• Interpret for legal, health, and local government services
• Check the understanding of non-English speakers after each sentence
• Provide conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting
• Handle highly confidential information
• Liaise between service users and providers

Requirements

• Fluent in English and another language (e.g., Arabic or Slovak)
• Right to work in the UK
• Age 21 or over
• Qualifications such as:
• Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
• Community Interpreting
• NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registration (advantageous)
• Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
• Other interpreting-related qualifications
