We are looking for an AR Optical Development Engineer to join the Optical Engine Delivery Team at Snap Inc.

What you’ll do:

• Help transfer designs and processes to contract manufacturers & partners
• Understand optical experimental methodology and have experience in an optical lab environment
• Analyze process data from manufacturers and support failure analysis

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong optical engineering experience with a focus on manufacturing and processes
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing needs
• Prototyping and analysis of opto-mechanical designs

Minimum Qualifications:

• BSc in Physics, Optics, or relevant engineering experience
• Experience transferring optical designs to manufacturers
• Proficiency with optical (e.g., Zemax) and mechanical (e.g., SolidWorks) design software

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience in optical engineering or a PhD in physics, optics, or engineering
• Understanding of manufacturing processes
• Experience with mechanical design and rapid prototyping
• Experience in display testing, image quality evaluation, colorimetry, and radiometry
• Experience with AR/VR systems and micro displays
• Understanding of polarising and diffractive optics
• Software skills (e.g., Python, LabView)
