Job summary

Level Zero Health is seeking a biosensor scientist to join our London-based startup in electrochemical aptamer biosensor R&D. The role focuses on bench chemistry, assay development, and data-driven approaches to deliver real-time biomarker sensing in biological samples.

You will design and optimize sensor platforms, apply surface chemistry and electrode modifications, and work with cross-functional teams to translate lab advances into clinical-ready prototypes.

Qualifications

• PhD in aptamer electrochemistry/biochem or related field required.
• Proven biosensor R&D and surface chemistry experience.
• Experience with aptamer-based electrochemical biosensors essential.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and optimize electrochemical biosensor systems for small molecules.
• Apply surface chemistry and electrode modification to boost sensitivity and stability.
• Develop novel assays translating bio-element interactions into sensor outputs.
• Use electrochemical methods (voltammetry, impedimetry, chronoamperometry) to evaluate function.
• Apply Python-based analysis and DoE to streamline workflows.
• Collaborate with chemists, biologists, engineers, data scientists.
