About the Opportunity

Amentum is seeking an Apps Support/DevOps Platform Engineer to join a team managing infrastructure for critical applications in a secure environment. The engineer will support our customer by administrating and maintaining the infrastructure used to deliver services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain virtualization infrastructure supporting applications in the client environment
  • Manage the Azure DevOps infrastructure
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute deployment of container upgrades to pre-production and production environments
  • Create and maintain documentation of infrastructure and configurations (architecture diagrams, procedures)
  • Provide first and second-line support for platforms hosting software applications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, application, and performance issues
  • Escalate complex issues to third-line support or development teams
  • Implement automation and optimization strategies to enhance platform performance
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve complex technical issues
  • Document support processes for infrastructure and applications
  • Continuously improve system performance and operational efficiency

This role requires on-site presence due to system classification; remote work is not available. The support team works flexibly during working hours, with no out-of-hours SLAs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience managing Active Directory, GPO, ADFS, ADRMS, DNS, PKI, VMware vSphere, Azure DevOps, Windows/Linux monitoring tools, SQL, and container management (Docker/Podman)
  • Experience in development and deployment in high-availability environments, with a focus on platform support or related IT roles, following DevOps best practices
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and customer service skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent)
