Job Title:Approved Mental Health Professional
Location:Vale of Glamorgan Council
Rate:Up to £37 per hour
An exciting opportunity has recently become available for an Approved Mental Health Professional. They are looking for a new member to join the mental health services team within the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
What will your responsibilities be?
You will assist the council in discharging their duties under section 13 of the Mental Health Act and manage a caseload of adults receiving interventions and services under secondary mental health. You will provide an outcome-focused assessment service to adults in line with the Care Act 2014. Additionally, you will deliver a professional social work service, including statutory and legal social care responsibilities to members of the public and/or their carers who require an assessment of their needs. You will work closely with other teams, including undertaking joint assessments with providers, carers, and external agencies to deliver outcome-focused services to individuals and their families. You will coordinate a comprehensive holistic assessment of need and risk, establishing and reviewing an initial support plan agreed with the service user, carer(s), and service providers. Furthermore, you will participate in the department’s safeguarding adults’ procedures and fully comply with departmental policies and procedures and the Health and Care Professionals Council’s Code of Conduct for Social Workers, including the capability framework.
Qualifications and Experiences:
To be successful in this role, you must have Social Care Wales registration, be eligible to work in the UK, hold a full UK driving licence, have post-qualified experience, and hold a degree level or equivalent in Social Work.
