Job summary

hoop recruitment ltd is assisting Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council in recruiting an Approved Mental Health Practitioner. The role focuses on duty coverage with flexible hours, ideally full-time but with possible reduced hours.

The position pays from £40 umbrella, and involves delivering essential AMHP duties in South Wales contexts. Applicants must hold a social work qualification and be registered with Social Care Wales or Social Work England, with DBS up-to-date.

Qualifications

• A social work qualification and registration with either Social Care Wales or Social Work England are essential.
• DBS update service registration or willingness to apply for a DBS is required.
• 3 years of referencing (employment/character) is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide Approved Mental Health Practitioner duties for the Council.
• Be flexible on hours and contribute to duty rotas as needed.
• Engage with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to assess needs and plan care.
