Job summary

Platform Property Care, part of Platform Housing Group, is recruiting an Approved Electrician for a mobile role covering Leicester and Northwest Leicestershire. You will perform remedial work, general maintenance and repairs across our properties, delivering high-quality service with a right-first-time mindset.

Ideal candidates have an electrical apprenticeship or NVQ L3 (and City & Guilds L3), AM2, and City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) with the 18th Edition.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or NVQ L3 in electrical installation and related City & Guilds.
• AM2 and City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent for testing/inspection.
• 18th Edition wiring regulations compliance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a range of electrical work and services in domestic settings.
• Carry out remedial work, maintenance and repairs across properties.
• Provide excellent customer service and ensure work is completed to spec.

Platform Property Care has a great opportunity for an Approved Electrician to join our repairs & maintenance team in a mobile role covering work in Leicester and Northwest Leicestershire and the surrounding areas.

You will be joining a talented team carrying out remedial work, general maintenance, and repairs across our properties. You will thrive on giving great customer service, keeping jobs on track, and ensuring the work is completed to spec. You will have a right first‑time mentality, ensuring the customer is at the centre of everything you do.

The role is varied, and no two days are the same! It’s a tough task and our expectations are high. In return you’ll have the support of a great team!

• Basic salary of £40,862 per annum for an Approved Electrician (additional can be earned from voluntary overtime and out of hours)

We Want Somebody Who Can

A team player, you’ll be hard working and keen to learn with a can‑do attitude. You’ll be working in people’s homes, so you’ll need to be friendly, approachable, and possess good communication skills. You’ll also need to be organised and recognise the importance of delivering good customer service.

Ideally you will have

• Served an apprenticeship in Electrical or obtained an equivalent NVQ L3 and City & Guilds L3 in Electrical installation, commissioning, and certification
• AM2
• City and Guilds 2391 or equivalent in testing and inspection
• The 18th Edition regulation

We Are Looking For Someone Who Has

• Sound experience in delivering a range of electrical work and services in a domestic setting
• Experience of working for a social landlord, housing association or council
• Experience of delivering responsive repairs
• Strong customer service skills
• Full, current, valid driving licence (essential as this is a mobile role)
• DBS check (required as you will be working within customers’ homes)

This role will require working on the out‑of‑hours rota which includes availability over 7 days, including working Saturdays and Sundays.

This role is for a team covering Leicester and Northwest Leicestershire so you will need to live here.
