Job description

The Appropriate Adult plays a vital role in supporting vulnerable individuals during police interviews and legal processes. This position requires a compassionate and understanding individual who can effectively communicate with both the police and the individuals involved. The Appropriate Adult ensures that the rights of the person being interviewed are upheld, providing reassurance and guidance throughout the process.

Duties

Attend police interviews with vulnerable individuals, ensuring their rights are protected.
Facilitate communication between the individual and law enforcement personnel.
Provide emotional support to individuals during stressful situations.
Assist in data entry related to case documentation and interview notes.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to legal protocols at all times.
Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when liaising with various stakeholders.
Utilise analysis skills to assess situations and provide appropriate feedback.
Communicate effectively in English.
