We're looking for an Apprenticeships Operations Manager to lead the delivery and improvement of our apprenticeship programmes, ensuring quality, compliance, and exceptional learner and employer experiences.

This is an exciting operational leadership role within TLE, with the responsibility for driving the growth of apprenticeships and vocational learning and ensuring a professional and high-quality experience, resulting in outstanding outcomes. This role will work closely with the TLE Senior Leadership Team, Business Unit Heads, Services Leads in HCRG Care Group, and external stakeholders to develop, enhance, and grow our apprenticeship provision and customer base.

Location: Regional office. Hybrid working with regional and national travel as required.

Main duties of the job
  1. Lead, develop, and mentor colleagues, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
  2. Promote an inclusive and engaged workforce, ensuring a positive and productive working environment, modelling a collaborative and influencing style of working, negotiating with others to achieve the best outcomes.
  3. Ensure high quality and cost-effective delivery of apprenticeships and vocational learning services and programmes.
  4. Develop and expand training provision into new areas and sectors to drive growth across apprenticeships and vocational learning.
  5. Manage customer contracts, ensuring contractual obligations are met and targeted financial contributions are achieved by controlling costs and supporting business development.
  6. Oversee contract management of suppliers to maximize contractual obligations and service delivery.
  7. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to support growth and sustainable outcomes.

Job responsibilities

Essential:

  • Degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Recognised assessor qualification (A1/A2, D32/33, TAQA).
  • Experience as Operations Manager or similar in an Independent Training Provider or FE/HE setting.
  • Experience delivering Apprenticeship Programmes and Vocational Learning.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship standards, government-funded programmes, and ESFA compliance.
  • Understanding of compliance, audits, inspections, and quality assurance.
  • Experience with self-assessments, Quality Improvement Plans, and improvement actions.
  • Involvement with Ofsted inspections and monitoring visits.
  • Employer/customer engagement experience, including Employer Account Management.
  • Strong commercial acumen to grow income and expand into new regions.
  • Leadership experience managing remote teams across wide geographical areas.

Desirable:

  • Teaching Qualification.
  • Project Management Qualification.
  • Leadership/Management Qualification.
  • Knowledge of health and social care workforce training and development routes.
