Job summary

Best Practice Network is seeking an Apprenticeship Tutor - Teaching Support (Manchester) to holistically plan and support trainees through their programme. You will deliver high-quality training and assessment for trainees in the teaching support sector, sharing expertise to help them achieve progression.

The role covers visits, observations, recording progress, and delivering curriculum mastery aligned to trainee needs, with a focus on safeguarding and British values.

Qualifications

  • Hold Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy qualifications.
  • Hold an assessor qualification and IV/IQA qualification.
  • Experience in Further Education or similar environment.
  • Willing to travel to customer sites with a full driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Complete timely progress reviews with trainees and identify skills and knowledge gaps against curriculum themes.
  • Conduct visits and observations in workplace placements, liaising with mentors and lead trainers.
  • Maintain trainee records and support portfolio submission (BUD/e-portfolios).
  • Provide training; deliver key training on Prevent, British values, personal development and safeguarding.
  • Support and promote equality, safeguarding and Wellbeing for trainees.

About the job

This post will holistically plan, and support through to completion of the programme. You will be providing high quality training and assessment for trainees based in the teaching support education sector. Your knowledge and experience will be shared with trainees to ensure they achieve.

Job Responsibilities
  • Complete timely progress reviews with trainees and identify skills and knowledge gaps against the curriculum themes
  • Complete visits in accordance with the programme requirements completing observations in workplace and placement settings, liaising with mentors and lead trainers
  • Maintain records relevant to individual trainees
  • Support the delivery of high-quality curriculum mastery to meet as appropriate to the trainees’ requirements
  • Assess and feedback to learners using the portfolio system (BUD)
Training
  • Develop individual action plans tailored to trainees needs
  • Support the delivery of training using approved training resources to cover curriculum themes
  • Provide tutorial support including key training for the trainees (and employer around Prevent and British values), personal development, behaviour, and welfare, safeguarding and any additional learning support requirements
Coordination and Support
  • Monitor trainees progress and provide support in completion of evidence and uploading on to BUD. Ensuring other evidence is completed in a timely manner, setting targets to ensure timely completion
  • Detailing, monitoring, recording and reporting of ALS
  • Supply information to employees and employers to support teaching supportprogrammes
  • Liaise with Line Manager's to facilitate reviews and appraisals
  • Provide appropriate data and information regarding the programme and trainees as required and contribute to the regular self-evaluation monitoring process
  • Review progresson each visit, and provide feedback on work submitted
  • Provide mental health and wellbeing support to trainees
Administration
  • Complete all relevant documentation in order to progress the signing up and recording of new trainees on the programme
  • Maintain documentation that records the progress of trainees on programme against specified targets
  • Complete documentation in relation to visits to employers, trainees reviews, assessment visits and any other such appointments that evidence, support and maintain relationships with trainees and employers
  • Ensure timely achievement of all trainees on programme and complete all other required documentation
Other
  • Any other duties connected with the post as are reasonably required from time to time
  • Ensure own CPD is kept up to date, and attend CPD and Standardisation events, as appropriate, delivered by BPN.
  • Participate in all BPN quality assurance and act promptly on all feedback
  • Support Ofsted preparation and visits
  • Interview potential candidates and ensuring timely completion of paperwork to strict deadlines
  • Support and promote equality and diversity at Best Practice Network to ensure equality of opportunity for all trainees, visitors and staff and the elimination of discriminatory practices
  • Support and promote the safeguarding agenda at Best Practice Network to ensure trainees, visitors and staff are safeguarded
