Job summary

West Yorkshire Police is seeking an experienced lead to provide operational and compliance leadership for apprenticeship programmes. The role ensures programmes are effectively managed, compliant, financially sustainable and aligned with workforce development priorities.

The successful candidate will design and deliver apprenticeship initiatives, manage relationships with partners and oversee data, funding, and safeguarding processes to support strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering apprenticeship programmes and driving continuous improvement.
• Strong knowledge of apprenticeship regulations and funding rules.
• Ability to present complex information to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support design and delivery of apprenticeship programmes to attract, retain and develop staff.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners to enhance apprenticeship outcomes.
• Support apprenticeship recruitment processes and ensure guidance for managers and candidates.
• Monitor compliance with Ofsted, Skills England regulations, funding requirements and employer-provider standards.
• Ensure apprenticeship provision remains inspection-ready and aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Manage relationships with training providers and end-point assessment organisations for quality and value.
• Coordinate apprenticeship data, monitor performance measures and provide MI for decision-making.
• Support management of apprenticeship levy funding and co-investment arrangements.
• Maintain apprenticeship policies and safeguarding arrangements.
• Engage with senior leaders on significant work streams and present complex information.
