The government requires that all apprenticeships include an End-point Assessment (EPA), which evaluates the Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours (KSBs) acquired during the apprenticeship. This ensures apprentices meet employer standards and are fully competent in their roles. Pearson provides employers with confidence that completing an apprenticeship signifies job readiness, with consistent assessment standards across different providers and locations.
An independent EPA means assessors have no conflict of interest and are unbiased. They must not have been involved in the apprentice's training or assessment at the training provider. EPAs can be conducted onsite or remotely, scheduled with employers or providers as appropriate. Assessors will record and justify assessment outcomes, which are quality assured by Pearson.
Assessors will be qualified, trained, and approved to evaluate apprentices according to the assessment plan and Pearson’s materials, ensuring consistency and fairness.
