Description

Coordinate designated vocational study programme delivery activities for the College, including delivering high-quality teaching, managing day-to-day operational issues, exams, and timetabling, ensuring consistency across sites if needed. Inspire and motivate students through outstanding teaching that challenges them to excel.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

The following indicates the main priorities as directed by your line manager but is not an exhaustive list:

  1. Deliver high-quality vocational teaching and assessment according to College standards and external validating bodies. Prepare teaching materials, schemes of work, and lesson plans, develop and implement curriculum revisions, ensure quality assurance, assess student work, monitor progress, and maintain statutory compliance including safeguarding, equal opportunities, and health and safety.
  2. Manage daily course operations including communication, problem-solving, timetable management, arranging cover, liaising with departments, and ensuring cross-site compliance.
  3. Visit students in workplaces, set skill development targets, monitor progress, and assess competency per NVQ criteria.
  4. Assist with recruitment, enrollment procedures, and induction programs to ensure proper course placement.
  5. Conduct student meetings, set SMART targets, support UCAS applications, and address pastoral needs.
  6. Monitor attendance and results, coordinate performance reporting, and implement action plans as needed.
  7. Promote English and Maths support, monitor attendance, and facilitate student movement to these classes.
  8. Attend various meetings, coordinate review and progress meetings, and report as required.
  9. Collaborate on course development, participate in CPD, and mentor staff.
  10. Handle departmental administration including register marking, updating systems, and participating in quality assurance activities.
