Job summary

Keighley College is seeking an Apprenticeship Assessor/Teacher - Business to join our Apprenticeship team, supporting apprentices across Keighley College and Harrogate College.

You will guide learners through their apprenticeship journey, helping them develop knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to succeed in the workplace and achieve qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Experience in apprenticeship environments is preferred.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to mentor and support learners.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of Business apprentices across Keighley College and Harrogate College, supporting them from enrolment through to successful completion of their apprenticeship.
  • Deliver high-quality coaching, mentoring, assessment and progress reviews.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with employers to meet learner and business needs.
  • Conduct regular workplace reviews and monitor progress toward targets.
  • Provide constructive feedback and individualized support to help apprentices overcome barriers.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and ensure documentation meets quality and funding requirements.
  • Collaborate with curriculum teams to deliver an outstanding learner and employer experience.
  • Promote safeguarding, equality and inclusion, and health and safety practices.
  • Support quality improvement activities and apprenticeship performance targets.
  • Stay up to date with changes to apprenticeship standards and assessment requirements.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Apprenticeship Assessor/Teacher - Business to join our Apprenticeship team, supporting apprentices across Keighley College and Harrogate College.

In this rewarding role, you will work closely with apprentices and employers to deliver high-quality teaching, coaching and assessment across a range of Business apprenticeship standards. You will guide learners throughout their apprenticeship journey, helping them develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to succeed in the workplace and achieve their qualifications.

As a key member of the team, you will manage a caseload of apprentices, conduct workplace and online reviews, assess progress against apprenticeship standards and build strong relationships with employers to ensure a positive learner experience and successful outcomes.

What You Will Do
  • Manage a caseload of Business apprentices across Keighley College and Harrogate College, supporting them from enrolment through to successful completion of their apprenticeship.

  • Maintain accurate learner records and ensure all documentation and evidence is completed in line with awarding organisation, quality and funding requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum teams and apprenticeship colleagues to deliver an outstanding learner and employer experience.
  • Promote safeguarding, Prevent, equality, diversity and inclusion, and health and safety practices at all times.
  • Support quality improvement activities and contribute to achieving apprenticeship performance targets, including retention, achievement and learner satisfaction.
  • Stay up to date with changes to apprenticeship standards, assessment requirements and business sector developments to ensure delivery remains current and relevant.
About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about developing others and committed to helping apprentices achieve their full potential.

You may already be working as an Assessor, Skills Coach, Trainer or Teacher, or you may be an experienced Business professional looking to take your first step into education and apprenticeships. If you have current industry experience, excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to support learners, we would love to hear from you.

You will be organised, proactive and able to build positive relationships with both learners and employers. A strong understanding of workplace practices within a business environment, along with the ability to motivate and inspire others, is essential.
