Job description

Apprentice Welder/Fabricator - Brooker Piling Solutions Ltd

We are a family-run and owned business, and one of the market leaders in Foundation Drilling Tools. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is equipped with cutting-edge machinery for producing Foundation Drilling Tools.

We are looking to take on an apprentice welder who will become part of our team, fabricating and assembling drilling tools and equipment.

Main Duties:
  • MIG welding with mild steel wire
  • Welding with stainless steel wire and hard-facing wire
  • Operating oxy-acetylene cutting equipment
  • Welding rotator and associated hand tools
  • Familiarisation with equipment within the facility
  • Carrying out all work following Health and Safety protocols and adhering to quality standards
Entry Requirements:

GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English, grades 4-9

Skills Required:
  • Initiative
Training to be Provided:

The learner will study the Engineering Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
Day release to West Suffolk College.
Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held.

Things to Consider:

The ideal candidate will be hardworking, eager to learn, and have access to their own transport. Overtime may be available during busy periods. Our location is rural, and public transport access is limited, so own transport is essential.

This apprenticeship could lead to a full-time job within the manufacturing sector, with opportunities to develop further skills such as becoming a coded welder or weld-coordinator.
