We are actively looking for new talent to join our Manufacturing team at our site based near Stamford, UK site to complete a four year Level 3 apprenticeship with us in Welding and Fabrication.

Key responsibilities:

• Working safely at all times, complying with health and safety legislation, regulations, organisational and environmental requirements and ISO standards.
• Planning and preparing for metal fabrication activities, checking materials as per the detailed engineering drawings. We use carbon steel, stainless steels and high nickel alloys.
• Setting up, checking and adjusting equipment for safe and reliable fabrication of metal products or components, maintaining equipment in a reliable and safe condition and using correct methods for the moving and handling of resources and materials.
• Interpreting technical drawings, patterns, templates, and specifications to mark out, produce and assemble complex fabricated products to meet required specifications and quality standards.
• Operating equipment for cutting, drilling, shaping, and preparing of metal materials during fabrication activities and operating welding equipment to join metal parts using TIG and MIG processes to the standards required by specifications.
• Restoring the work area and equipment to a safe and reliable condition upon completion of the activity and complete documentation at the appropriate stages of the work activity.

What kind of person are we looking for?

• You must be age 18 (due to insurance requirements) with a minimum of four GCSE passes including Maths, English and Science.
• You will have a genuine interest in the practical side of engineering, or hands-on activities (enjoy figuring things out, how things work, making things)
• You will be able to show initiative, be adaptable, and eager to learn.
• You must have a full valid UK driving licence, and live within 45 minutes of our Stamford, UK site.
• Must be willing to travel to Leicester once a week for a 42-month period for day release apprenticeship training (Engineering Metal Fabricator Advanced Apprenticeship).
