Job summary

JBT Marel (Livingston) is offering an apprentice welder fabricator role to learn essential welding and fabrication skills while supporting the assembly of food machinery. You will work under supervision to interpret drawings and follow safety procedures, gradually taking on more complex tasks.

This apprenticeship focuses on MIG and TIG welding, with on-the-job training and a collaborative team environment in Livingston.

Qualifications

• Maths, English and one Science subject at National 5 are preferred.

Apprentice – Welder Fabricator – JBTMarel (Livingston)

Job Purpose: As an Apprentice Welder Fabricator, you will work under the guidance of experienced tradespeople to learn the skills necessary for fabricating and welding material components. You will assist in the preparation, assembly and welding of food machinery, as well as learn to interpret technical drawings and specifications to understand project requirements. You will operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently under supervision, and develop proficiency in various techniques, including MIG and TIG welding. You will maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.

You will learn core skills such as communication, problem solving, numeracy, working with others and ICT alongside the technical skills within your role.
