Job summary

Johnsons Cars in Tamworth is seeking an Apprentice Vehicle Technician to join the Hyundai Mazda dealership. The role supports experienced technicians with maintenance, inspections and diagnostics, while you gain hands-on training and career progression.

The package includes a basic salary of £16,640, 31 days holiday (rising to 33 with service), a birthday day off, pension, staff discounts and access to training academies to support your growth within the group.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced technicians in the workshop with maintenance and repair tasks.

• Follow safety protocols and keep a clean, organized workspace.
• Participate in training to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
• Communicate repair progress and issues with the team.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assist experienced technicians in the workshop with a range of automotive maintenance and repair tasks.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance services as per manufacturer requirements.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work environment.
• Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding vehicle issues and repair progress.

What We’re Looking For

• A genuine interest in the automotive industry and a passion for learning and developing technical skills.
• Previous experience in a similar role or relevant coursework after leaving school is preferable.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions from senior technicians.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Ideally qualified in Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance
