An exciting opportunity has arisen for an apprentice vehicle technician to join our HGV vehicle maintenance and repair team at Hampshire Transport Management (HCC)

The Role:

We are offering a great opportunity for you to undertake a three-year NVQ Level 3 HGV Maintenance and repair apprenticeship, consisting of on-the-job training and theoretical study, whilst working as a vehicle technician in our Hampshire Transport Management Workshop at Hook. You will study for a nationally recognised qualification and the chance to achieve accredited competence in a broad range of knowledge and skills within the chosen discipline.

What you’ll do:
  • Assist existing technicians with servicing, diagnosing and repairing our fleet of over 200 vehicles.
  • Attending college on block sessions to carry out theoretical study for your NVQ
  • Assist with workshop housekeeping duties
  • Share a culture of care, respect and independence with everyone using the service.
  • Adopt an inclusive approach in all activities
What we’re looking for:
  • Meet the entry requirements of the NVQ course and able to attend and undertake the studying and coursework required to complete the apprenticeship.
  • An interest in the area of work in which the apprenticeship is based. Ability to work with others to deliver a specific/defined goal.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Basic interpersonal and communication skills for giving and receiving information and interacting with others.
