Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains invites applications for an Advanced Apprenticeship in Brixworth, UK. The program combines hands-on training with college attendance one day a week, supporting you to achieve the Level 4 standard while contributing to real-world testing.

By the end, you will have learned to set up test facilities, run tests on power units, calibrate beds, review results, and ensure ISO 9001 compliance, with opportunities for growth and a comprehensive benefits package.

Formación

• Completed Level 3 BTEC or equivalent diploma.
• GCSEs at grades 4-9 in Maths and English Language.
• Practical experience with internal combustion engines is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Set up test facilities, e.g., dynamometers and rigs.
• Run tests on components, sub-assemblies and power units.
• Calibrate and maintain test beds to ISO standards.
• Review test results to identify problems.
• Liaise with Engineering to optimise product development.
• Adhere to ISO 9001 and maintain SOPs for testing processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of facilities and personal skills.

We offer the opportunity to work and learn at the same time to achieve your Level 4 Advanced Apprenticeship standard, supporting you to attend college one day a week offsite at an external provider. All whilst working at a world class championship winning company.

By the end of your apprenticeship, you will have developed the knowledge and skills to:

• Set-up test facilities, for example dynamometers and rigs.
• Run tests on components, sub-assemblies, and complete power units.
• Calibrate and maintain the test beds to ensure reliable results to stay in line with ISO standards.
• Review test results to identify problems.
• Liaise with other departments (e.g. Engineering) to ensure the development of the product is optimised.
• Adhere to, create, and maintain standard operating procedures for testing processes and other operations whilst staying in line with ISO standard 9001.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities of our test facilities, the power unit, and your own personal skills.

What do we need from you?

• Tenacious, curious, and driven individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• For you to have completed (or be expecting to achieve by September 2027) a Level 3 BTEC or equivalent diploma.
• For you to have achieved GCSE’s at grades equivalent to a C or above (4 - 9) in Maths and English Language.
• You should demonstrate any practical experience of working with internal combustion engines, mechanical assemblies including an understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
• The ability to demonstrate enthusiasm, accountability, and initiative, along with taking a pride in the quality of work you produce.
• A willingness to go the extra mile to help the team succeed.
