Job summary

Vertu Peugeot Paisley is offering an Apprentice Technician role to kickstart a career in the automotive industry. You will learn through a Modern Apprenticeship, earning while you train and pursuing a qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.

The programme combines workshop practice with workplace assessments, mentored by our Apprenticeship Provider to ensure you gain the necessary skills to complete your apprenticeship successfully.

Qualifications

• National 5 or above in English and Maths, and a Science or Technical Subject.
• Keen to learn and develop practical skills in a dealership environment.
• Strong time management and willingness to work in a hands-on role.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vehicle servicing, maintenance and minor repairs in the garage.
• Support MOT preparation and component removal/replacement under supervision.
• Learn diagnostic techniques and repair processes with mentors.

Apprentice Technician

We have a great opportunity for someone looking to kick start their career in the automotive industry!We will support you throughout your journey while learning your new skills and you will undertake a qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.

The Modern Apprenticeship Programmes allow apprentices to work full time and earn while they learn putting theory into practice within an automotive training environment.

As well as attending the training centre for week block release of training, regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace which aims to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship.

What Might a Typical Day in this Job look like?

You will be based within the garage workshop and will be involved in learning all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, removal, replacement and overhaul of major components and electrical fault diagnostics.

What will I learn?

Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within our dealership with dedicated mentors from our Apprenticeship Provider and the workplace, which aims to ensure you have the required skills to successfully complete your apprenticeship.

What qualifications or qualities are required?

You must have or expect to gain National 5or above in English, Maths, and either a Science or Technical Subject.

What personal qualities are required?

• We are looking for candidates who want to kickstart their career in the automotive industry and who are keen to learn.
• You must be dedicated and have a proactive approach to your work and learning.
• Time management and punctuality must be to a high standard.
• A willingness to work in a practical environment using your own initiative.
• A full UK Driving licence preferred but not essential.
