Job description

About Our School and Windsor Academy Trust

Welcome to our dedicated school team. We are a dynamic and inclusive community of professionals who play a crucial role in the daily success of our educational environment. Our staff are deeply committed to providing the operational excellence required to support our teachers and students, ensuring our school is a safe, welcoming, and highly effective place to learn and work. (Please feel free to add any specific details about your school's culture or community here).

We are incredibly proud to be part of the Windsor Academy Trust family. Working within the Trust means you benefit from shared expertise, wider opportunities, and a powerful network of support. This collective power allows us to focus relentlessly on our shared moral purpose: unlocking the academic and personal potential of every child, while ensuring our staff thrive.

About the Role

As an Apprentice Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role within our academy, providing dedicated support to help our pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Working under the professional guidance of the SENCo and classroom teachers, you will be an essential part of a team dedicated to delivering high-quality, inclusive education.

This role is a structured pathway designed to give you practical, hands‑on experience while you actively work towards your Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification. We are fully committed to your continuous professional development and will ensure you have the guidance and protected training time you need to succeed.

Your daily work will be deeply rewarding and directly impact our students through:

  • Targeted Pupil Support: You will provide 1:1 mentoring, offer support for distressed pupils, and implement targeted programs tailored to individual needs (such as daily exercise routines or specific SEN strategies).

  • Classroom Assistance: You will help pupils access learning using appropriate resources, carefully monitor their progress, and assist in maintaining a positive, focused learning environment through consistent behaviour management.

  • Curriculum Delivery: You will provide specific support in literacy and numeracy, utilising a range of teaching approaches to ensure all students can confidently access the curriculum.

  • Community and Ethos: You will establish constructive relationships with parents and carers, while fully committing to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

About You We are looking for a highly organised and collaborative professional who:
  • Possesses strong operational, administrative, or technical expertise relevant to the school environment.

  • Thrives in an agile team and is always looking for ways to improve school systems and efficiencies.

  • Deeply understands that every role, whether in an office or a classroom, plays a vital part in unlocking student potential.

What We Offer You

We want you to love coming to work. Here is how we support, develop, and look after you from the moment you join us:

A Supportive Family & True Collaboration

You are never working in a silo at Windsor Academy Trust. We are a team that co‑creates, supports one another, and ensures every single voice is heard.

  • A Warm Welcome: From Day One, you will be welcomed into an inclusive team and paired with a mentor through our 90-day Buddy Programme.

  • Valued Co-Professionals: We recognise our operational, finance, HR, IT, and estates colleagues as the essential engine driving our shared educational mission.

  • Cross-Trust Networks: Connect with a brilliant network of professional services specialists across our family of schools to share best practices and solve challenges together.

Space to Breathe and Thrive

We are serious about protecting your wellbeing and ensuring a healthy work‑life balance.

  • Flexible Approaches: Benefit from clear working hours and flexible working opportunities where applicable.

  • Exceptional Benefits: Enjoy a highly competitive package including generous pensions, Vivup retail discounts, and cycle‑to‑work schemes.

  • Your Wellbeing First: Access a comprehensive support package, including a confidential Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and healthcare benefits.

A Bespoke Pathway for Your Career

We are committed to helping you reach your full potential, offering clear avenues for professional development.

  • The Talent Institute: We invest heavily in our support staff, providing the paid training and mentorship you need to advance.

  • Tailored to You: Whether you want to master your specific discipline, access funded professional body memberships, or step into operational leadership, we build a bespoke learning pathway just for you.

Safeguarding & DBS Requirements

Because the safety of our students is our absolute priority, please note that this role is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, alongside other standard pre‑employment safeguarding checks. We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer dedicated to safer recruitment.

If you want to work in a school trust that values your mind, protects your time, and invests in your future, we would love to hear from you.
