Job summary

Keighley College are recruiting for an Apprentice Teacher of Functional Skills (Maths and English) to join our team. You will gain on the job experience while working towards completing your Teaching apprenticeship, achieving a Level 5 Certificate in Education.

The course is provided internally through University Centre Leeds, with support from our dedicated Teaching, Learning and Assessment team. As this is an apprenticeship, the role is fixed term for 24 months, offering valuable industry

Qualifications

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Apprentice Teacher to start or develop a career in Functional Skills English and Maths.
You will hold English, Maths and ICT at Level 2 (or higher) prior to commencing training or completion of the apprenticeship.
You will have a relevant highest level vocational qualification in teaching subject (at least Level 3).

Responsibilities

Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans and learning resources.
Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
Create SMART learning targets linked to learner study programmes and monitor progress.
Deliver a minimum of 100 teaching hours over the two-year period.
