Job description

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To learn and develop skills to:

  • Assist in the successful running of Medway Council sports centres for the benefit of customers
  • Provide excellent customer service, including face-to-face and over the telephone, ensuring all customer complaints and comments are noted and passed to a supervising member of staff
  • Assist sports centre staff in ensuring customers participate in a clean and safe environment
  • Assist sports participation team in the successful delivery of sporting events
  • Assist sports centre staff in delivering fitness sessions, swim lessons, and sports coaching sessions

Role Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Sports Officer Apprentice to join the Sport and Leisure team within the SLTH Service. This role provides a chance to gain the Leisure Team Member Level 2 Apprenticeship while working with the team managing leisure centres on behalf of the council.

Key Tasks
  • Routine cleaning and maintenance
  • Lifeguard duties
  • Assist with swimming lessons
  • Assist with gym inductions and fitness sessions
  • Support sports activity sessions
