Job summary

Cubitts KX Group Ltd in London is offering an Apprentice Spectacle Maker role in our Kings Cross workshop. You’ll start with repairs and restoration, learning how frames are built, fitted and finished, with hands-on training and mentorship.

No prior experience required; you’ll progress to more making and exposure to CNC equipment as you grow, while upholding Cubitts’ values and five-day service standard.

Responsibilities

• Repairs & Restoration: Restore and repair frames, replace hinges, screws & nose pads, polish and refinish.
• Diagnosis & Materials: Learn to diagnose frame faults and choose repair methods by material.
• Service Standards: Maintain workmanship and uphold Cubitts' five-day service promise.
• Craft Development: Develop spectacle-making skills through hands-on training and mentoring.
• Workshop Machinery: Build familiarity with CNC routers and other machinery.
