Our mission

At Made Tech, we want to positively impact the future of the country with digital technology. We help public sector organisations deliver quality software to help citizens get more from public services. We work alongside brilliant public servants to modernise technology and accelerate digital delivery.

Your Journey
As an apprentice software engineer, over 18 months, you’ll work towards an accredited level 4 DevOps apprenticeship programme. During this time, you will learn and develop your technical software and personal centred skills and gain hands-on experience working on real client projects.

You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of technologies and will need to be comfortable doing so and be adaptable to learning new technologies and skills every day. So you will need to demonstrate adaptability and readiness to learn new technologies and skills every day.

Your role at Made Tech

In phase 1, you will be focused on learning the software engineering fundamentals that will enable you to progress and contribute to live delivery projects.

In phase 2, you will work on real client project teams. This will give you both the opportunity to reinforce and develop what you have learned in phase one. You will also be attending structured learning days to further enhance your skills as a DevOps engineer.

What we are looking for

  • An interest in programming and the ability to create some basic code.
  • A Maths and English GCSE at a minimum grade C/4 or equivalent functional skills (level 2).
  • Commitment to undertake an 18-month learning programme.
  • A true team player.
  • A willingness to learn.
  • An awareness of working within a consultancy environment.

Essential requirements

  • All applicants must be 18 years & over at the time of starting the program.
  • All applicants must not be currently employed under a government-based scheme or taking part in any other apprenticeship or government-funded program.
  • All applicants must hold a Maths and English GCSE at a minimum grade C/4 or equivalent functional skills level 2.

Next steps:

  • Selected applicants will be invited to a short screening, upon submitting your application.
  • If your screening is successful, we will invite you to complete a short coding assessment.
  • Applicants who pass the coding assessment will then complete a short Maths & English assessment.
  • Finally, applicants who are successful following the Maths & English assessment will be invited to an in-person assessment centre.
Key Responsibilities

As an apprentice software engineer, you will be designing, building, testing, maintaining, and evaluating software. You will play a key role in supporting your team to apply what you have learnt, to solve problems and improve the user experience.
