Apprentice Site Engineer

This role is based in and around Cheltenham/Gloucester

What you will be doing:

You will enroll in an apprenticeship course suitable for your educational level, from entry to degree level, fully funded by Galliford Try. The specific level will be discussed at interview and confirmed upon offer. You will gain a qualification and develop practical skills during the programme.

Alongside, you will participate in our Trainee Development Programme, receiving training through modules over a year, culminating in a graduation event.

As an apprentice/site engineer trainee, you will assist Site Engineers with setting out and engineering control on site.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Participating in creating a safe working environment
  • Assisting in site engineering control and setting out activities, providing information to operatives and subcontractors
  • Completing diary sheets and photographic evidence
  • Assisting in material reconciliations
  • Ensuring calibration of surveying equipment
  • Carrying out as-built surveys and supporting in producing site sketches
  • Maintaining quality records and ensuring works comply with Inspection & Test Plans
  • Assisting in planning, monitoring, and programming
  • Controlling waste and introducing new processes and techniques
  • Taking care of company property
