Job description

We are currently seeking an Apprentice Roofer to join our team here at Together Housing Group in Halifax. As a Level 2 Roofing Apprentice, you'll learn essential roofing skills while helping maintain and improve the homes of thousands of residents all while working toward a nationally recognised qualification.

Please note this role is a 2 year fixed term contract

  • Assist experienced roofers with repairs, installations, and maintenance of pitched and flat roofs
  • Support property upkeep, ensuring roofs are weatherproof, structurally sound, and safe for residents
  • Attend college or training provider sessions to complete your Level 2 Roofing Occupations qualification
  • Learn to work with materials like tiles, slates, membranes, and insulation systems
  • Follow health & safety and safeguarding protocols, especially when working at height and in residential areas
  • Communicate professionally with residents and colleagues, representing the housing association with care and respect

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grade 3/D or above preferred)

Please note this role is a 2 year fixed term contract

  • Salary: During the first year of the apprenticeship, the compensation will be £7.55 per hour, equating to an annual salary of £14,526.20. PLEASE be aware that this is regardless of age.
  • In the 2nd year salary Under 18, £7.55 per hour and annually, £14,526.20. £10 per hour, annual salary £19,240.00 (Aged 18-20) or (for those aged over 21) £12.21 per hour, annual salary £23,492.04
  • Studying towards the level 2 roofing qualification
  • 27 days holiday (rising to 32 over 5 years' service) + bank holidays
