Forget Me Not Children's Hospice has a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Retail Assistant to join our team.

In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a busy retail environment while working towards a nationally recognised qualification. You will support the shop manager and assistant manager in effectively sorting, displaying, and selling items.

Main Duties and Key Responsibilities
  1. Greeting and assisting customers with a smile
  2. Learning how to operate tills and handle payments
  3. Keeping shelves stocked and displays looking great
  4. Supporting with stockroom tasks including sorting, steaming, and pricing donated stock
  5. Assist shop with promoting and processing gift aid
  6. Helping achieve sales and KPI targets
  7. Learning about the charity and acting as an ambassador
  8. Working towards your Retail Apprenticeship qualification

All roles at Forget Me Not adhere to the expectations within the Together for Families Framework, emphasizing acting with integrity to ensure trust and support for all involved.

While employed as an Apprentice Retail Assistant, you will work towards achieving a Level 2 Retailer Apprenticeship, delivered in the workplace by Inspiro Learning.

To become an apprentice, you must:
  • Be 16 or over
  • Not already be in full-time education

You can start an apprenticeship whether you’re beginning your career, seeking a change, or upskilling in your current job. Previous qualifications like a degree do not disqualify you from starting an apprenticeship.

As an apprentice, you’ll:
  • Have regular one-to-one sessions with a dedicated trainer, either remotely or through workplace visits
  • Learn and train for a specific job
  • Get paid and receive holiday leave
  • Gain hands-on experience in a real job
  • Study for at least 20% of your working hours
  • Complete assessments during and at the end of your apprenticeship
  • Be on a career path with lots of future potential
