Job Description:

As a forklift truck service engineer, you will diagnose and solve problems independently, ensuring customer operations run smoothly. You will service and repair forklifts, gaining skills in hydraulics, LPG, and electric systems through training and hands-on experience.

  • Learn to install, repair, and maintain forklift trucks according to Crown specifications, including completing an engineering apprenticeship with college attendance.
  • Work alongside experienced colleagues, developing workshop procedures through on-the-job training.
  • Attend manufacturer and other relevant training courses.
  • Learn administrative procedures such as completing worksheets and timesheets.
  • Maintain security and cleanliness of customer trucks in the workshop.
  • Use and manage tools and spares responsibly.
  • Follow all health and safety, legislative, and company procedures.
  • Ensure work meets industry and company standards under supervision.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and managers.
  • Perform other duties as reasonably requested by Crown.
Person Specification
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
  • Interest in engineering.
  • Friendly, with good relationship-building skills.
  • Minimum of A*-C grades in Maths and English or equivalent.
  • IT literate, familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, or similar.
  • Efficient, accurate, and motivated.

  • Flexible and dependable.
  • Aptitude for practical science or engineering; no prior experience required but interest demonstrated through school or hobbies.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.

Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays.
