Job description

Job Title: Apprentice Quantity Surveyor (Scotland)

Overview:
An Omexom apprenticeship in Quantity Surveying is a full-time position, incorporating day-release for formal university learning alongside work-based training. Apprentices will gain exposure to some of the most challenging and rewarding projects in the industry.

This 4-year programme leads to a recognised degree in Quantity Surveying, equivalent to a full-time university qualification. It offers a valuable “earn while you learn” opportunity, where apprentices apply their skills directly on live projects while earning a salary.

Key Responsibilities:
As part of the commercial team, Apprentice Quantity Surveyors will support the delivery of projects through close collaboration with Senior and Managing Quantity Surveyors. Responsibilities include:

  • Procurement: Collate subcontractor and supplier costs

  • Negotiation: Participate in subcontractor negotiations

  • Reporting: Gather and present cost data for internal reports

  • Management: Liaise with subcontractors and manage monthly applications

  • Stakeholder Relations: Work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders

  • Learning: Combine work-based training with formal university modules

Required Skills and Attributes:
