About The Role

Currie & Brown is seeking an apprentice quantity surveyor for our Exeter office. The role involves working on exciting construction projects, contributing to community benefits, and participating in a training program to develop skills in service delivery, client outcomes, innovation, and reputation enhancement.

The successful candidate will attend university part-time, one day per week, to earn a BSc in Quantity Surveying, while working in the office for the remaining days. Candidates must have the necessary school or college qualifications for university entry.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting feasibility cost estimates
  • Measurement and quantification using software
  • Preparing tender documentation
  • Reviewing tender documentation for benchmarking and cost planning
  • Attending meetings and taking minutes
  • Supporting professional services delivery
  • Recording pricing variations and project changes

Requirements

  • Experience with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel preferred
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Desire to become a chartered quantity surveyor
  • Outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, flexible
  • Proactive learning approach
