Job summary

Silvergate Plastics in Wrexham is offering a Level 2 Apprentice Production/Manufacturing Operative position. You will learn to operate extrusion and blending equipment, follow manufacturing processes, and contribute to delivering high-quality products safely and efficiently.

The apprenticeship lasts typically 12–18 months, with on-the-job training and formal instruction. We are looking for numerate, English and Maths GCSEs (Grade 3/D or above preferred), a keen interest in manufacturing,

Qualifications

• Keen interest in manufacturing or engineering.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
• Basic numeracy and communication skills.
• GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English (Grade 3/D or above preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist with operation of production equipment, including extrusion and blending processes.
• Monitor production runs to ensure quality standards are met.
• Weigh and prepare raw materials in line with production specifications.
• Carry out basic quality checks and report any issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Work collaboratively with production and technical teams.
