Apprentice Procurement Officer 2025

Location: Leicester / Solihull

What will you be doing?

When you join us as an apprentice, you will:

  • Complete an apprenticeship course relevant to the role, to suit your current education level. At the end of the programme, you will gain a qualification in this field as well as learning the practical skills and hands-on experience doing the job.
  • Join us on our Trainee Development Programme, where you will be given the training and tools to develop your skills through a series of modules over an 18-month period followed by a graduation event.

We offer apprenticeships from a level 3 to a degree level apprenticeship fully funded by Galliford Try, tailored to your current education level and course entry requirements.

This role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in construction purchasing, with a focus on materials and subcontractor procurement for facade projects. You will assist in sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships while ensuring cost efficiency and timely delivery of goods and services. You will:

  • Assist in procuring facade materials such as cladding, insulation, fixings, glass, and metal components.
  • Support the procurement of subcontractors for installation and specialist services.
  • Obtain and compare supplier quotes, ensuring value for money and quality standards.
  • Work closely with project managers to determine material and subcontractor requirements.
  • Monitor and track orders to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to project timelines.
  • Assist in negotiating terms and contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, purchase orders, and supplier databases.
  • Support cost analysis and budget monitoring for facade construction projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and industry regulations.
  • Develop relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors to build a reliable supply chain.

This role is available for a Summer 2025 start, with the possibility of an earlier start date to suit yourself and the business.

As part of the apprenticeship programme you will be expected to work in and around the location advertised, with the possibility for travelling to other projects and locations around the UK in the future.

To qualify for the apprenticeship study requirements, you must have eligibility to live and work in the UK without restriction.
