Job summary

GAP Group Limited’s Apprenticeship Programme offers a 3-year path to becoming a Plant Mechanic. Earn while you learn with hands-on guidance from expert fitters and attend Reaseheath College blocks; GAP covers accommodation, meals and travel. This structured start develops skills in service, maintenance and repair of plant machinery.

On completion you can progress to Workshop Fitter and other GAP career pathways in a busy workshop environment, with real progression and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship requires completion of the Level 3 Construction Equipment Maintenance Technician course.
• Structured training with hands-on work in a busy workshop.
• Good communication, attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Learning how to service, maintain and repair plant machinery and equipment.
• Replacing components, checking systems, and calibrating instruments.
• Developing core engineering skills with exposure to electro hydraulics and control systems.
• Working alongside experienced fitters to gain hands-on workshop experience.
