Liverpool City Council is recruiting an Apprentice Payroll and Pensions Officer to join our payroll and pensions team at Cunard Building, Water Street, Liverpool. You will learn to process payroll information, maintain accurate employee records, respond to queries, and ensure accurate and timely payments and pension contributions.

The role offers hands-on experience, customer service development, and progression through a recognised Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Accurately calculate pay and process payroll information for an allocation of employees.
• Maintain employee records and respond to payroll/pensions queries.
• Provide HMRC guidance as trained to staff and managers.
• Assist in preparing pensions documentation for the pensions fund.
• Support salary sacrifice schemes (annual leave, childcare vouchers, cycle to work).
