What’s the apprenticeship all about?

As an Apprentice at Ian Williams, you’ll gain hands-on experience and learn on the job! You’ll combine college studies with practical training to master your chosen trade. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your new skills in real-world scenarios, supported by our experienced tradespeople – your own mentor.

What will you be doing?

Your work will vary from contract to contract, but here’s a glimpse of what you’ll be involved in:

• Preparing surfaces (filling, sanding, caulking)
• Mastering paint application techniques (rolling, cutting in, brush skills)
• Enhancing gloss work (doors and window frames, skirtings)
• Engaging in external works (railings, sheds, fences, and walls)
• Working in diverse environments, both indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions, from warm indoor settings to cold winter days on commercial sites
