What’s the apprenticeship all about?

As an Apprentice at Ian Williams, you’ll gain hands-on experience and learn on the job! You’ll combine college studies with practical learning to master your chosen trade. You’ll also have the opportunity to apply your new skills in real work environments, supported by experienced tradespeople – your own mentor.

What will you be doing?

Your work will vary from contract to contract, but here’s a taste of what you’ll be up to:

• Preparing surfaces (filling, sanding, caulking)
• Mastering the art of paint application (rolling, cutting in, brush skills)
• Sprucing up gloss work (doors and window frames, skirtings)
• Working outdoors on external works (railings, sheds, fences, walls)
• Working both inside and outside in all weather conditions, whether in homes or commercial sites
