Job description

Apprentice Mobile Grounds Operative (Horticulture)

Pay rate - £12.21 per hour

Do you have a passion for Landscaping and Horticulture?

We have an exciting Apprenticeship opportunity in Bedford and surrounding areas, working with experienced colleagues to carry out grounds maintenance to required specifications for one of our prestigious social housing partners.

You'll be working 37.5 hours a week (ranging between 7am - 3:30pm), working with us 4 days a week and from September 2025, start to attend college 1 day a week to study for level 2 in Horticulture, a course designed for those that are new to horticulture or have basic knowledge and skills.

A full Manual UK Driving Licence is desirable but not essential.

Duties during the 4 days will include:

• Use of petrol driven equipment for Lawn Cutting & Hedge Pruning
• Weeding and bed maintenance of existing borders
• Shrub pruning as required
• Litter Picking & Sweeping
• Continuous development throughout the apprenticeship programme

We will provide in-house training covering Risk Assessment, PPE, Use of machinery, basic maintenance and safety checks.
