Are you ready to dive into the world of engineering and automation? The University of Southampton offers an exciting opportunity for aspiring technicians to join as an Apprentice Engineering Design and Manufacturing Technician. This role provides hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art facility and enables you to pursue a Level 4 Automation and Controls Engineering apprenticeship.
In partnership with the South Hampshire College Group (SHCG) - CEMAST in Fareham, you will work towards earning a Pearson BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Engineering or Automation and Control Engineering. This is a great chance to be part of a dynamic technical community with excellent training and development opportunities.
You will gain knowledge and skills to provide effective technical support in the development, maintenance, and operation of the facility, working alongside the technical team for the Educational, Research, and Enterprise portfolio.
Qualifications
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, salary will be at the lowest spine point of Level 3, which is Spine Point 22, amounting to £30,805 full-time equivalent.
During the first year, pay will be 60% of this amount, increasing to 70% in the second year, and 80% in the third year.
All apprentices will receive a salary at least equal to the applicable National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage rate for their age, if higher than the contractual minimum.
