ROLE: Apprentice Maintenance Technician
HOURS: Monday to Friday; 08:00-16:30 and 16:00 Friday, Fixed term for 36 months leading to permanent role
SALARY: Weekly paid (£8.16 p/hr starting salary, increasing on successful completion of the apprenticeship)

We are delighted to be recruiting for an additional Apprentice Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Team based at our Clover Nook Site, Somercotes.

Once fully trained and qualified, you will carry out the installation and maintenance of new and existing equipment and machinery within the company’s extrusion/production facilities so that our uPVC products can be manufactured with minimal, or zero interruption caused by equipment/machinery failure.

Our recruitment day will consist of an interview discussion with the Head of Maintenance and other colleagues along with some activities to complete to help give you a feel for the work that’s involved and enable us a chance to see you follow some instructions in a working environment.

WHAT OUR APPRENTICE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS DO:

• Fault finding/trouble shooting for breakdowns and equipment failure, both mechanical and electrical, using original equipment manufacturer (OEM) diagnostic software and manual processes
• Using technical drawings to maintain and install equipment
• Completing proactive/preventative and responsive/corrective maintenance schedules
• Making decisions about equipment safety and power
• Delivering high standards of operational excellence

WHAT WE NEED FROM OUR APPRENTICE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS:

• Strong work ethic and time keeping
• Grade 4 English and Maths
• Technical mindset/aptitude, with the drive to learn and build a career
• Basic IT skills
• Previous team working evidence eg sports team; social activities (Desirable)
• Ability to follow detailed instructions (Desirable)
• Ability to work out maths problems; trigonometry (Desirable)
