Job summary

The University of Oxford invites applications for an Apprentice Laboratory and Facilities Assistant in the RDM Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. This role supports Lab/Operations Managers and Facilities Teams to keep research spaces safe and well‑run.

You will undertake a Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship with CSR Scientific Training, based mainly at John Radcliffe with some duties at Old Road Campus.

Qualifications

• GCSE maths, English and a science subject passes (9–4 / A–C) required.
• Initial assessment may be part of the application process.
• Residency funding requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Follow Health and Safety procedures to maintain a clean, safe lab environment.
• Conduct visual inspections and report faults and hazards.
• Assist with safety inspections, fire alarm tests and evacuation drills.
