Job summary

Darlington Borough Council are recruiting 2 x Apprentice Joiners (27 months fixed-term) to join our Housing Building team, providing hands-on experience across Reactive Maintenance, Internal Planned Maintenance and Voids while learning value for money and keeping customers informed of progress.

You will attend Learning and Skills training at Darlington on a day release to undertake the Carpentry and Joinery Level 2 Apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at A-C (pre-2017) or 9-4 (2017+) or Level 2 Functional Skills.
• Ability to apply literacy and numeracy to spelling, grammar, punctuation, percentages and decimals.
• Commitment to high standards of workmanship and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day repairs in occupied properties across teams.
• Support larger projects such as installing kitchens and bathrooms.
• Help prepare empty properties for re-let to meet housing standards.
