Description of what the apprentice will do in their role:

Are you looking to start your career in joinery? Do you have a passion for woodworking and craftsmanship? We are offering a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Joiner to join our team and learn the trade of door manufacturing. If you're eager to develop your skills in a supportive and hands-on environment, this apprenticeship could be the perfect start for your career!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learn to manufacture, assemble, and finish doors to a high standard.
  • Assist in measuring, cutting, and shaping wood and other materials under the guidance of experienced joiners.
  • Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely and effectively.
  • Follow technical drawings and instructions to create custom doors.
  • Support the team in maintaining a clean and organised workshop.
  • Develop your knowledge of different types of doors, including internal, external, and specialist designs.
  • Gain experience in fitting doors onsite across the UK

Comprehensive Furniture Making Training:

During your Standard Level 2 Furniture Making apprenticeship programme you will receive training both off and on the job. You will be trained at the employer within the workplace and also at WEBS Training in Nottingham on a block basis for a week at a time every 10 weeks.

You will learn the underpinning knowledge that runs alongside your practical elements of the training. WEBS Training aim to build on the skills you already have so you reach your full potential both personally and professionally.

Training will be provided in all areas of furniture making and joinery to ensure you can create practical and bespoke furniture using both traditional and modern techniques and materials to produce aesthetically pleasing and fit for purpose products.

If you have already achieved GCSE maths and English at Grade 4/C or above or have equivalent qualification you will be exempt from undertaking Functional Skills, however English and maths support will be provided for all apprentices throughout the length of their programme.

Career Progression and Opportunities:

Progression on to a level 3 apprenticeship.

  • Good attention to detail and a passion for quality craftsmanship.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team.
  • Punctuality, reliability, and a positive attitude and availability to occasionally stay overnight when fitting across the UK
  • A willingness to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • A full UK Driving Licence is beneficial but not essential, however the role will require you to be able to drive by the end of your apprenticeship.

Qualifications

  • GCSE or equivalent in English (Grade C/4) - desirable
  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths (Grade C/4) - desirable

Pay: £15,704 per year

Schedule:

  • Day shift (Include shift pattern)
  • Monday to Friday , 7am - 3.30pm (Include days expected and hours)
