Job description

Our Opportunity
We are seeking an Apprentice IT Technician to join TKAT on a fixed-term basis. Working closely with the regional IT manager, you will support our schools within the City Region in maintaining and administering computer networks.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding and some experience of network infrastructure and hardware. The apprenticeship is at ‘Information Communications Technician Level 3’ and lasts approximately 17 months, including EPA.

Applicants with an IT degree (Level 3) or more than 6 months of IT work experience are not eligible. Please review the eligibility criteria in the attachments.

Key responsibilities include:
* Monitoring the service desk for IT issues
* Ensuring compliance with policies and standards
* Assisting in IT strategy feedback
* Reporting data/cyber security breaches
* Supporting the development of the Trust's IT systems
* Project managing changes and liaising with contractors
* Identifying training needs based on request patterns

The ideal candidate will be:
* Experienced in network administration and system checks
* Professional and responsible
* Decisive and motivated
* Communicative and team-oriented
* Capable of explaining technical issues to non-technical staff
