Our primary customer is Northumbria Healthcare NHS FT, which provides health and social care services in primary care, acute hospitals, community hospitals, and adult social care (PACS) through 10,000 employed staff. Northumbria Healthcare’s Digital Services team provides all of the technology and technical development to assist in the current electronic systems and the development and delivery of the drive to be paper-free at the point of care. The role of the Digital Services Apprentice is to support existing PC equipment and software applications, along with the deployment of new equipment and software.

An Apprenticeship Education Programme is an integrated work-based training and development programme, an excellent springboard to start your NHS career while gaining knowledge and competencies leading to a nationally accredited apprenticeship qualification and possible future career progression.

Duties for this role include:
  1. To assist in providing support for all IT services, software, and mobile devices throughout the Trust, including installation of PC hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
  2. Investigate routine enquiries and queries from staff, providing assistance and advice as required.
  3. To order, install, and configure new IT equipment and services.
  4. To manage and maintain documentation as appropriate to the role.
  5. To ensure new equipment and services are installed and configured in a timely manner and in line with Trust standards and service levels.
  6. To troubleshoot and resolve basic Service Desk support calls in a timely manner and in line with Trust standards and service levels.
  7. To work within the Trust IM & T Security Policy at all times and ensure all supported systems comply with this.
  8. To undergo staff training and development as required and attend all team and departmental meetings.
  9. To update systems as appropriate to track the lifetime of IT assets within the Trust.
